Very Insightful Laura, as you know, with my disability I have to stand for at least 30 minutes every four hours to combat skin breakdown, and ostioporosis. Is there anything else I should be doing along with this?


Hi Tom -- Thank you for your comment. Yes, resistance training is also recommended to strengthen the muscles and aid in creating a strong frame. You could try light weights, resistance bands or simply use your body's own resistance. See the previous article for more ideas if you'd like. Thank you again for stopping by! At 40, I’ve become more vigilant in following fitness programs and staying healthy than I was during my 20s. I guess you’ll only realise how important your body is to you when significant changes have occurred.


Hi Jane -- Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I know for myself, I've become more mindful of exercise as I've gotten older. It is amazing the changes that happen to our bodies between our 20s and 40s. I find myself having to try much harder to keep up with workouts and have become more careful to exercise smarter. For example, I've decreased weights and have added reps instead of taxing my body with heavy lifting. I try to listen in and take notes using the cues my body is giving me. My body seems to respond well to this method. Thanks again for stopping by *Laura*
