When it comes to setting your weight loss goals, many people want to know what the best workout program for losing weight really is. The truth is, there is really no single best workout program - whatever you decide to do, you need to make sure it's something you will enjoy. You will want to choose activities that you want to do - therefore, it will help you to push yourself forward toward your goal of changing your body for the better. Therefore, the best workout program is truly something you choose for yourself, something you are good at, and will do on a regular basis.
What The Most Important Thing You Should Know About Losing Weight?
The best workout program for losing weight could include almost any type of exercise. However, in order to lose weight and keep it off for any length of time, you'll need to understand the fundamentals. They are not difficult to understand, at all. There is one basic rule of thumb: ultimately, when trying to lose weight, your main aim should be to take in fewer calories than you burn off each day. This can be done through a combination of diet and exercise.
Most people start with cardiovascular exercises to help them lose weight. This is a wise choice. These exercises increase your heart rate and leave you with a sense of slight fatigue. Cardiovascular exercise or aerobic activity could be as simple as going for a walk every day. If you do choose to walk as your aerobic activity of choice, be sure to move at a brisk pace that raises your pulse. You can even test this pulse elevation at your neck or wrist.
It is also essential that you build intensity into your aerobic workouts. This may mean making sure that you walk faster for an interval rather than at your standard pace, or substituting a quick jog in between power walking. Continue these intervals and you are sure to feel your heart pumping! We cannot stress it enough, in effort to lose weight it is important to reduce, as well as burn calories.
Learning How To Challenge Your Body
The most important thing you can learn about weight loss and fitness is, how to effectively challenge your body. Even the best workout program could eventually stop challenging your body, so you'll constantly need to look at your fitness and weight loss program to be sure you are changing or cycling your workouts. When you do this - even slightly - your body is forced into adapting to the challenges you set for it.
How Much Exercise Do You Need?
Leading health organizations recommend that you get 3-5 cardio workouts in every week, for periods of 30 minutes or more. If you’re finding it hard to do, then you can break this up into periods of 10 minutes at a time. When you’re just starting out then you may need begin slow and gradually challenge yourself to build up the energy and fitness to adapt to a longer workout..
The best workout program should also include some resistance training in addition to your cardiovascular activity. This helps to make sure you’re building your muscles which will, in turn, increase your metabolism and help you to burn calories quicker.

Yes! I think 3-5 cardio workouts each week is a fabulous guideline. In terms of anti-aging however, I'm moving in the direction of 5,000+ steps each day (pref. high intensity) this to minimize joint damage/free radical damage and 2-3 30 minute sprint/interval workouts each week. Interval training has been shown in some studies to stimulate the bodies natural HGH... so you can see where I'm going with that! I'm interested in your thoughts so do hope you will share.
